Tuesday night, the Lady Warriors took on Wharton in one of their last games of the season that ended with a 46-40 win. It was a close game, as Wharton started off with a lead of 9-5 after the first quarter. The second quarter however, the girls recovered and took a strong  22-17 lead on the Wildcats.

At halftime, the two Senior co-captains Sabrena Eye and MK Miller were honored for their last game as a Lady Warrior. Their teammates created videos to commemorate some of their favorite memories of them, and expressing their appreciation for their co-captains.

In the third quarter of the game, the ladies expanded their lead on Wharton, with Eye scoring several free throws to pull the Warriors ahead. As for the last quarter, Wharton began to catch up, with the game ending in only a six point difference. However, the overall teamwork shown by the Lady Warriors was enough to keep the lead.

“I thought we played really good defense and everybody contributed last night, especially since it was Senior Night. It was a good game overall,” said Sophomore Sara O’Brien. The girls next take on the Leto Falcons on Jan. 18, at 6:30, at Leto High School.
