Here at Steinbrenner there are 65 clubs, 14 of which are brand new. Some of the new clubs include Radio Control, Dance Team and National History.

One of the new interest clubs Radio Control or ‘R.C.’ club is a learning experience of trial and error, creating and perfecting helicopters or cars. Kyle Wolf (the sponsor of R.C. club and fine arts teacher) bought a 3D printer and plans on using it for the club to create parts for the helicopters or cars. Wolf has already attempted to make and perfect a helicopter using his 3D printer and hopes others in the class can accomplish this task as well.

“Hopefully some people will bring their copters or cars and tell us all that they’ve learned about the process and building them… we could build them race them have fun with them, have a learning process,” said Wolf.

Wolf is currently printing a replacement helicopter part. He hopes to have members of R.C. club do this as well if their parts break or need to be replaced with a new design.

Another new club is the Dance Team, which begins in November. The club hosted by Marie Parisi (sponsor and English teacher). Parisi has danced for 20 years and has taught dance while she resided in New York. Parisi has mostly been trained in mostly hip hop and jazz, but has also had training in ballet and contemporary dance. She hopes to form a strong dance team and go to competitions as well as perform at pep rallies and football games.

“I wanted to create a dance team solely based on different styles of dance. This is something I’ve been wanting to start for a few years now, and I’m excited that it’s finally coming together,” said Parisi.

A new honors club called National History club is focused on correctly informing students about history. The club is sponsored by the History channel and various colleges. Adler Shannon (creator of the club) hopes to compete at competitions and further expand others knowledge of history.

“We want to help people get community service and just help around and try to inform people more about history because most people don’t know very much and are misinformed about a lot of things,” said Shannon.
