Since Marvel was created in the year 1939, the franchise has become one of the most well-known in the world. With comics, movies, TV shows and more, the company has attracted the eyes of an extremely large audience with their media. One of the immensely popular bits of said media is Spiderman, which includes a comic and many movies. While the popular marvel superhero has been portrayed by multiple actors, one has stood out recently.

In the most recent movies, the character of Peter Parker has been played by Tom Holland- who first appeared in “Spiderman: Homecoming” in the year 2017. Since then, two full-length movies have been released, and one is on the way.  Director Jon Watts has kept the theme of ‘Home’ in the titles, with the middle film being called ‘Far from Home.’ With this, the cinematic film coming soon is to be released in December 17 of 2021 and is named ‘Spiderman: No Way Home”.  A little over a week ago, the official trailer for the upcoming film was released, which spread a wildfire of excitement among Marvel fans. The trailer itself is only three minutes long, but many easter eggs behind the short clip.

As is known with past Marvel movies such as Infinity War and Endgame, the cinematic films are no strangers to holding off on secrets. This has meant many things, such as having actors reveal fake information- to editing elements of the trailer out (such as characters). The brief trailer is straightforward itself, but for the hardcore fans, it did not seem to fool many. With the rollercoaster ride that Marvel has brought to their audiences, it makes complete sense why analyzing the trailer has seemed more difficult than usual.

When it comes to theories, fans have not slowed down with predictions on how this movie will go. However, when looking into it, it seems as if some ideas pop up more often than others. A prime example of a popular fan prediction is that Doctor Strange is not himself- or that he is even the recently unseen character Mephisto. For those who viewed the trailer, it is seen that the ‘sorcerer supreme’ easily agrees to doing a confusing and tricky spell for Peter.  When not looking in detail- this might not seem like a crucial factor of the trailer. But as pointed out by many, Strange has been overall seen as the most ‘mature’ character of the MCU. Due to this, it seems weird that he would agree to such a spell so easily- leading fans to believe something is seriously wrong with his character.

This theory is only one of many, and as time goes on, increasingly more have seemed to pop up. However, only time will tell about the reality of these predictions- as the release date edges closer every day. Waiting seems to be the best factor as of now, because it seems as if these predictions have ‘no way home.’
