Warning: contains major spoilers.

Prep the OR, and scrub in because “Grey’s Anatomy” is back for Season 15 and it’s the “season of love.”  And if the Evil Spawn can find love, anyone can. All three of the “metaphorical” sisters: Meredith, Maggie, and Amelia have struggled or are struggling with finding and maintaining relationships in their love lives. Season 15 has been said to be the “season of love.”

Even though Shonda Rhimes is no longer involved in the show, the new writers were still able to embody the characters we love. Speaking of characters, the new updates to cast provided some much-needed diversity to cast, especially since Arizona and Callie, the resident lesbians have moved on.

The premiere begins with Meredith having a series of raunchy dreams involving several of the doctors from Grey Sloan Memorial. Alex and Jo are on their honeymoon after their impromptu marriage in the last season’s finale.  Maggie, Jackson, and De Luca are recovering from their drunken night of fun after Kepner’s wedding.

But of course, everyone’s day is interrupted by yet another trauma. Coincidentally, the trauma involved a matchmaker, perhaps destined to match Meredith with the next McDreamy. However, Amelia and Maggie aren’t in need of a matchmaker, but their paths seem rocky. Jackson’s accidental proposal sends Maggie into a downward spiral of panic and fear, but they could be engaged by the end of the season. As for Amelia and Owen, they decided to give love a second chance, however, a curveball is coming Owen’s way, and it’s his lovechild with Teddy Altman.

On the other hand, Meredith may be on the hunt for love this season. The series has always flirted with the idea of Meredith committing to a long-term relationship, but could they are prepping for a relationship between Ortho-god, Dr. Atticus Lincoln “Link” and Meredith.  Although, McDreamy will be a hard act to follow.

Meredith isn’t the only person with the potential for love, but also “Glasses” has a flirtation with one of the new Ortho doctors. This is the first time that “Grey’s Anatomy” has introduced a gay couple, this relationship will fill the void that was left by Arizona when she left for New York in the season finale.

Although there was an explosion, the show wasn’t too melodramatic and was able to integrate some key issues that plague society today. For instance, the show introduces a patient who was unable to talk about his sexual desires, which tackles the problem of normalizing sex-related discussions.

Some doctors in “Grey’s Anatomy” have managed to fall in love and get married, one being Alex Karev and Jo Wilson. While they were on their honeymoon, inspiration strikes for Wilson, which lands them back at Grey Sloan. Initially, the fund couldn’t be found for re-hiring both Wilson and Karev after Bailey spent the money on a new toy for the hospital, a hyperbaric chamber, so Bailey decides to personally fund Jo’s fellowship and appoint Alex as interim Chief of Surgery. However, this appointment has the potential to create a divide between Karev and Meredith, because Meredith feels the job should be hers.   Another concern is if Karev will be any good at being Chief. Not only is Alex advancing in his career, but also Jo with both Bailey and Meredith saying that her idea was “the future of medicine.”

Not only is Meredith upset with Bailey’s decision to appoint Karev as Chief, but also Weber, who may fall of the wagon after the death of his sponsor. If Weber starts drinking again, it could have a ripple effect on Amelia and her relationship with Owen. Owen and Amelia better be prepared because the perfect storm may be coming for them. This may be the “season of love,”  but it definitely won’t be a season without trauma, and drama. Watch the trailer for season 15 of “Grey’s Anatomy” here.
