This past Wednesday the Steinbrenner Warriors Junior Varsity football team took on Chamberlain and left with a 21-0 shutout. In the first quarter of the game the defense refused to let Chamberlain’s offense take any ground with a series of fantastic tackles that kept the opposing team nearly static, and a tackle against the Chamberlain quarterback added two points to the Warrior’s score, making it 2-0.

During the second quarter the Warrior offense hit back and hit back hard. Steinbrenner scored a touchdown increasing the Warrior’s score to eight, but with a missed kick it was the only score advancement that took place during that quarter. The third quarter was rather uneventful comprised mostly of a slowly moving offensive and defense line but some great tackles and sacks kept the Warriors lead over Chamberlain’s team.

But compared to the intensity of fourth quarter it was nothing. To start off the quarter the Warrior JV defense made sure that Chamberlain’s offense wasn’t going anywhere. But in a sudden turn of events number 71 was sent to the ground in an injury. But as the player was being moved from the field, the team got ready to take home the win. The Warriors quickly scored a touchdown afterwards but a missed pass prevented them from taking the kick to score another point increasing the Warrior’s score to 14 points to Chamberlain’s zero.

The next couple of minutes were very tense as the Warrior’s pushed through the Chamberlain defense and held back their offense, determined not to let Chamberlain through. A series of great tackles later and the Warrior offense was ready to finish off Chamberlain as number 30 took the ball in for a touchdown which was soon followed by a fantastic kick from number one sealing Chamberlain’s fate. At the end of the game the Warriors won with 21 points while Chamberlain went home without a single point.
