It was an active first inning for both sides as the Panthers emerged from the inning with a 2-1 lead over the Lady Warriors. Plant came out strong in the second inning by scoring another run right away to take a commanding 3-1 lead over the Warriors. The Lady Warriors continued to fight hard though and were able to get a run in the fourth to make the game 3-2 going into the latter part of the game. Once again the Warriors determination came through as on the brink of suffering a disappointing loss to the strong Plant side, they were able to score the tying run in the bottom of the 7th inning to take it to extra innings. In the top of the ninth the Panthers seemed to have scored the decisive run against the Warriors, or so they thought, as the Warriors led a 2 run comeback in the bottom. The winning hit came from sophomore Megan Pierro that brought the runner in from second.

“I was going crazy! I just wanted to do whatever I could to help my team win and when I saw the outfielder drop the ball I just got so excited! Our goal was to go 4-0 in districts so after winning this game it is a really big deal for us that we reached our teams goals,” said Pierro on the win.

The Lady Warriors advanced their record to 13-4 overall and 4-0 in district play.
