After many years playing the sport he loves, all of the hard work has finally payed off as senior Drew Burkhart finally has the opportunity to live out his dream of playing baseball for the University of Tampa.
Having one of the top baseball progams in the United States, it is clear that the University of Tampa has been a major part of Burkhart’s life, as he is not really interested in going anywhere else.
“The University of Tampa has always been in my plans, I’ve never really wanted to go to any other college. I basically grew up playing at UT,” said Burkhart.
Being a private college, University of Tampa offers an amazing academic advantage, as well as having a Division II baseball program that Burkhart believes will suit his skills perfectly. Due to the university’s location, Burkhart fortunately has the ability to stay close to home where he has found comfort and has made many friendships over the years.
“I thought about going out of state, but I love Florida, I love the weather. And staying close to my parents too.”
