On Dec. 9 Steinbrenner debuted the school’s very first Book Swap event where students and teachers alike were encouraged to bring in old books and exchange them with other participants of the event. The limit an individual can take each year is 10 books, and participants are only allowed to take 10 books if given 10 books. This year there were hundreds of books given, and each were sorted into individual genres from horror novels to romantic comedies. The books were dropped off between Dec. 20 and Dec. 9 with the book swap days designated to take place over the course of Jan. 9 and 10. Several teachers were assigned the designated drop-off locations in their classrooms with the event itself held in the courtyard near the cafeteria.
