Senior Jenna Stevens assists students at Global Classrooms. Stevens acted as the Director of the UN High Commission of Refugees.

The school’s Model UN club visited the University of South Florida on April 1 to participate in Global Classrooms, a program that allows students to explore real world issues.

Typically, students participate as “delegates,” representing the countries that come together to discuss and debate important global issues. However, this year, seniors Jenna Stevens and Ethan Huber participated as chairpersons, acting as the Director and Chair, respectively, of the UN High Commission of Refugees.

Stevens has been involved with MUN since her freshman year, and is the school’s current MUN president. This is her fourth Global Classrooms conference. In the years past, she has participated as a delegate and earned an Honorable Mention and Best Delegate Award.

“I’ve gone my freshman, sophomore and junior year as a delegate, but I researched many more countries than I would have as a delegate. ” said Stevens.
