The Lady Warriors softball team was unable to make up for an early lapse Tuesday in district play against Chamberlain (15-6).

Coming into the game with a (10-6) record following a win against Gaither, the girls went down 0-3 after the first inning. That was all of the scoring for the rest of the game.

The team showed some life in the third inning when they were able to get runners on first and second with only one out. Chamberlain was able to hold off the only major offensive threat from the Lady Warriors.

Warrior coach Colleen Sanders discussed what she was doing to help her team attempt to gain ground and bring the players to victory.

“I told them to stay positive, keep a positive attitude and keep on working,” said Sanders. Sanders also said the team needs to continue to play as a team in order to be successful during the final stretch of the season.

The Warriors will go on to play at Freedom on April 5, a game with big postseason implications.
