LUTZ – Just two days ago, the varsity football team was looking down at the five other members of Class 7A District 7, this morning it’s just the opposite. Following a 37-7 loss Thursday night to district opponent Gaither and a 45-7 lashing by Tampa Bay Tech over district opponent Wiregrass Ranch, the Warriors are now on the outside looking in with just five games left to play.

The team opened up their district schedule with Freedom two weeks ago on Homecoming eve and cruised to victory on a sloppy, wet George Steinbrenner Memorial Coliseum. However, in front of a loud Gaither crowd in Death Valley, there were no answers to the running game or defensive secondary (five interceptions alone by Ed Pastrana, a new Gaither school record).

Head Coach Floyd Graham will look to rally his troops this Friday night, as the team makes a long trip down to Riverview to battle the Sharks in a non-district match-up.

  1. I thought that this was a good article. The team definitely has some work to do to get back into the mix, the game against Gaither really hurt us though.
