With fall rapidly approaching, it’s time to pull out the cold weather clothes. Fall 2020 fashion is flooded with vintage-inspired looks, many of which can be easily created with items already owned or items that can be found at most thrift stores. Check out these 10 trendy items to boost your closet for fall.

Combat Boots

Combat boots provide a distinctively 90’s grunge look that’s perfect for fall. Black Doc Martens, or other alternative combat boots, are back in style and can be paired with nearly any outfit. Combat boots are a fall must-have for the modern fashionista.

Layering

Layering is an easy way to make an outfit not look basic. Throwing a turtle neck under a graphic tee, or even a shirt over a hoodie keeps you warm while also fashionable. Layering fishnet under ripped jeans can also add a playful touch to an outfit. In summary, the more layers the better.

Corduroy

For a softer fall vibe, try mixing in a playful corduroy bottom or even a corduroy jacket. Brown, green, and yellow corduroy are perfect for the season and pair well will a plain colored tee or sweatshirt. For an even more advanced look, try corduroy overalls.

Removable Collars

Removable collars have become all the rage on social media, easily replicating the layered button-up look. These can be easily placed under a sweatshirt to create a faux layering look that works perfectly for not so cold fall days.

Tennis and Plaid Skirts

On a more feminine note, tennis skirts are perfect for warmer days. They can be paired with a sweatshirt, a headband, and sneakers to create a feminine fall outfit that doesn’t hide your figure. As an alternative, try a plaid skirt for a darker vibe.

Sweater Vests

Taken from preppy country club style, sweater vests, specifically argyle ones, have become extremely popular. Paired with a long sleeve shirt, a tennis skirt, and some basic sneakers, sweater vests can easily be turned into a feminine, yet still warm, outfit. Layer a sweater vest over a plain tee with jeans for a less feminine approach.

Gold Layered Rings

Lots of rings can take an outfit from good to great. Layering jewelry of the same metal, both rings and necklaces, give a 90’s rockstar esque vibe that will instantly make you look put together. Stick with basic warmer toned rings to keep with the fall vibe.

Small Cardigans

Small button-up or tied cardigans can be worn alone as a top or layered on top of a baby tee to create a softer fall outfit. A bright-colored cardigan paired with an otherwise monochromatic outfit can make your look pop while still keeping it simple.

Straight Leg Jeans

Straight leg jeans have become a fashion staple, regardless of the season. This style avoids skinny jean discomfort, while still being fashionable. Try a high waisted style for a classic look, or a pair of baggier ripped jeans for an edgier look.

Peek-a-boo hair

Wanting a hair change for fall? Peek-a-boo hair is the perfect style for people looking for minimal damage hair dye. The under part of a pixie cut, bob, or even long hair can be dyed while still maintaining a healthy appearance. Colors such as gray, red, and orange are perfect for fall and can easily be dyed back to natural color when the season is over.
