Over Spring Break, the National Football League’s Free Agent Period began; allowing teams to pick up and trade with other teams to enhance their lineup. This is especially important for the Buccaneers because they performed poorly last season with a record of 5-11.

Dirk Koetter, the Head Coach of the Buccaneers had identified two areas that need to be improve the most is the ability of the defense to blitz and talent on the offensive side to score points.

So far the following contracts with Chris Conte (Safety), Demar Dotson (Offensive Tackle), and Josh Robinson (Defensive Back) expired on Mar. 8. In response, the Buccaneers have signed Defensive Tackle Beau Allen in effort to improve the overall defensive performance.

A little bit over a month ago the Buccaneers have decided to cut Doug Martin, so they will need to find a new running back or investing more in one of the running backs already on the lineup: Peyton Barber, Jacquizz Rodgers, and Charles Sims.

Most recently the Buccaneers have traded with the New York Giants to acquire Jason Pierre-Paul. In exchange the Buccaneers is handing over a third round draft pick and swapping fourth round draft pick. With the addition of Paul to the defensive line, it will increase the strength of the Buccaneer’s defensive capabilities.

This shocked many and has many implications for the upcoming NFL Draft on Apr. 27. More specifically, the Giants are likely to pick up Bradley Chubb with the number two overall pick.
