LUTZ – Senior outfielder Sammy May is receiving heavy interest from the Merchant Marine Academy (MMA) in Kings Point, New York.
May, a member of the baseball team for three seasons, recently flew to the school and met with head baseball coach of the Michael Notebaert about possibly joining the team in the Fall for workouts and playing in Spring 2013.
MMA cannot provide scholarships because of NCAA rules, but does provide financial aid packages.
In 2011, May hit .500 last year with one RBI and scored eight runs.
