It started as a stormy night and ended with a loss for the Warriors on Steinbrenner’s 2017 Homecoming football game.

This game was also Senior Night , so seniors in Warriors Marching Brigade, Legends, Cheerleading team, Football team walked down the field to honor themselves for all of their achievements throughout their high school career.

Shortly after Senior Night ended, the colors were presented and the game commenced. Their first attempts on offense were unsuccessful, however Dionte Waldron, Running Back, rushed for a first down. By the end of the first quarter, Steinbrenner was in the lead 7-0.

Throughout the second quarter, Steinbrenner remained in the lead despite a penalty against Bardon Garcia, Wide Receiver. However, the Newsome Wolves scored twice during the second quarter. As a result Steinbrenner lost the lead with a score of 14-7.

During Halftime, the Homecoming Court were paraded through the field followed by the class floats, the band, and JROTC.

After halftime, the Wolves scored another touchdown and two additional field goals making the score, in response the Warriors scored a touchdown making the score 27-14.

In the fourth quarter, Newsome scored two more touchdowns, and Steinbrenner scored a touchdown as well. The game ended with a final score of 41-28 a victory for Newsome.

Next week, the Warriors will face off with the Alonso Ravens.
