With all the other bizarre fashion trends and internet memes that 2017 has brought, squiggle eyebrows have been one of the more interesting and questionable movements to arise.

While the true origin of the squiggle brows is unknown, we understand that this trend was born and raised on Instagram via beauty gurus, for it to later branch off into YouTube videos with comedy channels and makeup vloggers (video bloggers). Even Snapchat created a face filter emulating the squiggle brow appearance. The squiggle eyebrow trend branched into other squiggle makeups as well, such as squiggle winged eyeliner and squiggle lips.

This trend clearly isn’t for everyday use. It’s strictly for photos and then to be washed off. It’s much harder to draw on squiggle brows than what one would imagine due to the requirement of perfectly drawn lines.

Do societal norms need to be changed so that we can accept these eyebrows as everyday wear? Most likely not, as this trend is already slowly declining. Just like all memes, they will eventually become irrelevant.
