Fans were able to witness Ed Sheeran’s lyrics, “I lost my shoes last night,” become a reality at his recent Amalie Arena concert of the “Divide” tour.

After complaining that his designer shoes were uncomfortable, the singer threw the pair of shoes he wore to the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards into the crowd, making an unintentional reference to the opening lines of his song “Bibia Be Ye Ye” which is an upbeat favorite among fans.

According to fans, Sheeran’s stage presence is what makes his performances so special, as his small size does not diminish the power of his voice or epic guitar shredding. Though his concert performances don’t normally incorporate large and flashy visuals, his recent concert added some high energy songs, adding to the hyped up environment of the arena. The excitement and energy continued even through his slower songs, and the lighting and echoes of fans singing along created a powerful vibe from the young artist.

Sheeran’s vocalization stayed strong the whole night, hitting exciting high notes even towards the end. Some of his more surprising moments came in his rapping. Seemingly without taking a breath, he jumped around the stage and hyped up the audience while rapping portions from his “Divide” album.

Another special moment from the night would be when Sheeran noticed one sign in the crowd that said “You Look Perfect Tonight,” a reference to his song “Perfect”. After pointing it out, he then dedicated the next song, “Perfect” to the fan with the sign.

At his last Amalie Arena concert, Sheeran finished his concert with “Sing” an older and energetic song that encouraged the entire audience to stand up. As this song came on many audience members started to leave. However, after a short break the singer came back up on stage for an encore, wearing a Tampa Bay Lightning jersey.
