While her sport is not offered here at school, Kayley Wojciechowski did not let that stop her from going above and beyond in her sport. Wojciechowski has committed to row at Clemson University; A division one school in Clemson, South Carolina.
“The coaches, the school, the atmosphere just felt like home and I can really picture myself there,” said Wojciechowski.
It was love at first sight when she was introduced to the sport.
“I really didn’t have another sport at the time and I came out, and watched some people practice, and I found out that it was a sport for me and just an atmosphere that is really friendly. The people are great and the sport is just great in general” said Wojciechowski.
Wojciechowski has been rowing for about 4 years now since she was first introduced to the sport.
“I’ve been rowing since the middle of 8th grade,” said Wojciechowski.
Her favorite moment was when she won regionals last year with her team.
“We practice so hard together and at the end of the day to have a result like that and qualify for the youth national completion together…it was really something special and unique,” said Wojciechowski.
This sport means a lot to Wojciechowski, who has put in countless hours of hard work to be where she is today.
“It means the world to me. Every day I go to practice and I know I will be surrounded by friends…it has really shaped who I am today,” said Wojciechowski.
Wojciechowski has no plans of slowing down as she has set big goals for herself.
“I plan to make it to the top ACC boat when I’m there, and really make it in the top eight, make an impact on the team and maybe even win an ACC championship,” said Wojciechowski
