Following the recent trend of pitting hero against hero, Captain America: Civil War sees our titular hero face off ideologically and physically against several fellow Avengers, along with a few new faces, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe is forever changed. In comparison to a similar film, Civil War is everything that Batman vs Superman should have been. The right amount of time is given for the viewer to sympathize and understand both sides of the conflict, building tension that ultimately results in a much more dramatic effect when they actually begin to fight. While there are several references to the larger universe that has been established, they aren’t shoehorned in or feel out of place in the overall plot. Excellent portrayals of  Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and Spider-Man ( Tom Holland) are sure to please all viewers and leave them wanting much more from them in their upcoming standalone films. Each film in the series so far has proved to be a drastic improvement over its predecessor, and Civil War is no exception, cementing the Captain America trilogy as the best in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far. Also be sure to stay after the credits for not one, but two extra scenes that give sneak peaks towards upcoming films.
