In Steinbrenner’s final home basketball game for the 2015-2016 season, it ended on a high note with a 36-16 victory for our Lady Warriors against Blake. After a dreadful 1st quarter filled with many turnovers and fouls that finished with the score being 6-5 Blake, the Warriors erupted for 15 2nd quarter points taking a 20-12 lead into the half and never looking back. Steinbrenner’s defense then came to play in the 4th quarter limiting Blake to 0 points the entire quarter. Steinbrenner’s Ashleigh Ingram, Alex Sikoryak, Makenzie Muley, and Sara O’Brien led the Warriors in points. Senior Alyssa Kuhlman believes the team has a very good chance in the playoffs this season and could make a deep run. “I love this team and these four years have been the best while on the team. I look forward to spending these last couple of weeks with my teammates as we head to the playoffs,” said Kuhlman. The girls go on to play against Wharton next Tuesday in the first round of Districts at Wharton, 7:00 pm.
