TAMPA – There wasn’t much left to smile about after Jefferson dominated Steinbrenner to a 12-3 victory, on Feb. 18.

After the Warriors (1-1) took out the defending 6A state champion Alonso Ravens on Tuesday, hopes were high that the one hit performance would last one game. But, after shortstop Stone Ramsey led off the contest with as base hit in the first, the team found itself in familiar territory: hitless, after Chase Turner drove in an RBI.

The Warriors kept Jefferson within one through five innings, but after starter Nick Sucarichi was pulled, the bullpen imploded giving up four home runs and 10 scores en route to a nine run defeat.

The Warriors will travel to King on Monday night for a make-up game and then return home on Tuesday for the first district game of the season against Wiregrass Ranch. Both games start at 7 p.m.
