Grey’s Anatomy has always been a popular medical and romantic drama that teenagers watch. It has been airing for 16 years, 18 seasons and going strong. There has always been a controversy between fans, debating whether they have stretched it out and whether the seasons are not as good anymore. The creators are constantly adding new characters and creating new ways to keep the drama alive in the show. They have killed off many characters but have brought many new ones that make up for it. The past season has been different because the pandemic pushed back and put limitations on their ability to film. They ended up finding a way to make both seasons, 17 and 18.

Season 17 of Grey’s Anatomy was all about COVID-19. They filmed special episodes to remember people who lost their lives because of the pandemic. As fans have seen, the main character, Meredith Grey, contracted COVID-19. She was unconscious for most episodes, during this time, many characters that were dead “visited” her in her dreams. This brought the fans joy as they were able to see past their favorite character who were killed off. As Meredith was on a ventilator the whole Grey-Sloan team was trying to find a way to make her feel better. Toward the end of this season people are starting to get the vaccine and things are looking up.

The hospital getting the vaccine allowed season 18th to have a completely different approach than the 17th season. The first episode of the new season was released on September 3rd. It is all about what they believe life will be like in and out of the hospital after the COVID pandemic. All the surgeries are back to normal, no one wearing masks, and everyone is vaccinated are some of the main points seen in the episode.

Many fans have predictions about what is going to happen this season because there are so many paths it could take. A lot of predictions come from Meredith finding new love after Dr. Derek Shepard and Dr. Andrew DeLuca, some suspect Hayes and others suspect Dr. Nick Marsh. Another prediction is how Dr. Ameila Shepherd, and links relationship is going, as the looks right now it seems like its ending, but some say they have such a good relationship they will find a way to make their issues work. No matter how many predictions we make the directors of Greys anatomy always seem to exceed expectations and surprise us. This season has the potential to be the best one yet. The episode was a 8/10.
