With Fall fast approaching, along with the leaves and weather, one of the most notable differences between fall season and summer is fashion, and knowing what will be in style ahead of time always helps to plan outfits for the upcoming seasons.

  • Vests-

They’re versatile, fun, and cozy. They’re easy to dress up or down, and they work with any weather. They come in a wide range of patterns, designs, and styles, and they can be worn for any situation, so it will be no surprise when they’re found everywhere this upcoming Fall.

  • Brown leather-

With the undeniable 2000s resurgence over the last year, there has also been a mild 1970s revival, because the 2000s took inspiration from the 1970s. As seen with halter tops, wide legged pants, and the bright patterns that were prominent in both eras. Because of this, a 1970s autumn closet staple such as brown leather, whether its with boots, jackets, or even just belts, is sure to make a comeback.

  • Homemade knitwear-

Many people picked up skills during quarantine, as seen with crocheted halter tops that were trendy last summer. These skills are likely to manifest in a more Fall-weather-appropriate way with homemade knitwear.

  • Plaid-

Plaid is an autumnal classic. Flannels are always on the display windows as soon as the first leaf falls, and this year, it will be no different. As well as the typical warm colored flannels, though, plaid will probably also be present in jackets, pants, skirts, and overalls this Fall.

  • Doc Martens-

They’re a timeless classic that serve to easily add edge to any outfit, especially when knitwear and fuzzy socks rule everyone’s closets. Doc Martens and similar boots will be prominent in the months to come.

  • Army green-

A color that makes for the perfect balance between the cold tones of winter and the bright ones of summer. Army green is easy on the eyes and can match well with a lot of textures and colors, so it makes sense that this one color will be big.

  • Denim everything-

Another 2000s trend that was also very prominent in the 2021 MET Gala. Between Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s memorable all-denim outfits from 2001 and Lupita Nyong’o’s asymmetrical denim dress from this year’s MET, the bold use of the basic fabric is definitely coming back.

These were the top predictions for the nearing autumnal fashion trends. Inspired by both the repeating Fall trends as well as the decade-based ones, this year’s Fall will be something to behold.
