Steinbrenner is full of creative and entrepreneurial students. Olivia Strauss is the perfect example as she gears up to release her own clothing line she calls Straussology.

“It’s something that I always thought was cool. Like the idea of people wearing something that I made is wild and kind of surreal. So one day, I was bored out of my mind and I was like ‘yo, I should make a clothing brand.’” said senior Olivia Strauss.

Her iconic design is the “Straussology smile” that can be seen on many of her products.

“I used to draw the face all over my binders and stuff in middle school so when I needed a logo for Straussology, I just chose that.” said Strauss when asked how she came up with the design.

Along with her clothing brand, Strauss also runs a podcast which can be found on her website.

“It’s random stuff, but mostly movie commentary tracks,” said Strauss.

Her website also features photography, films, and links to her YouTube channel. The photos Strauss features on her website show a wide variety of subjects. Strauss’ YouTube is for short films including comedy skits, drama shorts, and horror stories that she makes.

Running a clothing brand can be a lot of work, but Strauss was willing to share some advice for students looking to try out such an endeavor.

“My advice would be to be creative with whatever you wanna sell. I think that when you’re making a clothing brand or anything creative, you should be original and try to spread individuality.” said Strauss. “The most rewarding part is seeing your design on the shirt. And the most painful part is all of the legal work with it.”

Strauss has high hopes for the future of “Straussology” and its possible effect on buyers.

“I’m hoping that “Straussology” will be able to reach a wide audience and encourage people to be themselves,” said Strauss.

“The most rewarding part is seeing your design on the shirt. And the most painful part is all of the legal work with it.” said Strauss.
